The Axle, Manchester

The Axle involved the transformation of a derelict Victorian industrial building into a high-end CAT B workspace, carefully combining contemporary design with the retention of the building’s original industrial character.

Bloc provided project management services throughout this £1.74m refurbishment, working alongside the client and wid er design team from inception through to completion. The project involved the comprehensive refurbishment of the building to create high-quality office accommodation, together with modern staff facilities and collaborative working areas.

A key aspect of the project was balancing the requirements of a modern commercial workspace with the preservation of the building’s heritage features, ensuring the character of the existing structure remained central to the final design.
